The Sunshine State, also known as Florida, is always a haven for vacationers during the summer break. And why wouldn't they? This southern state is home to dozens of beautiful sandy beaches, each with its own unique flair and cornucopia of attractions to entertain the whole family. Whether you are up for water sports or simple sightseeing, the awesome beaches in Florida should always be in your itinerary. And what do you know? The pure sands of Florida beaches are also popular destinations for metal detector hobbyists, too! You would be surprised what kinds of treasures you can hunt down with a trusty metal detector on hand. Additional reminders: make sure you follow the policies and rules of the city and beach you are visiting, before you spring out your metal detector. As a general rule, metal detectors are not allowed on preserved sites on Florida, like national parks and some saltwater marsh preserves. So for those who have been in this hobby for a long time, or for curious readers who want to try it out, provided here is a list of 5 great beaches in Florida for the metal detector hobbyist. 1. Daytona Beach--Not only is this the site to visit for the hottest NASCAR races on the planet, but can be fun spot to hunt for treasures with your metal detector. 2. Miami Beach--Located on the east coast of the state, and popular site for TV shows like CSI, this is a fun destination for models, celebrities, beachgoers, beach sports fanatics, and even metal detector hobbyists. 3. Cocoa Beach--This venue is in the heart of Brevard County in Florida, with beautiful sand and nice weather. This is also the residence of some very popular surfers of the US, which is why surfing is another hot thing to do in Cocoa Beach. 4. Palm Beach--On the southeastern coast of the state, this beach is ideal to visit for fun for the whole family, and even metal detector lovers, too. You can have other activities like biking, skating, wind surfing, and many more. 5. Delray Beach--Located within Palm Beach County, you can try your luck with metal detecting here. If you want other interesting sights, you can view the botanical gardens and Japanese gardens in this area. Ideally, plan out your hunt very early in the morning, or right before evening.
